NSW Parliament has recently introduced new sentences for those who commit Child Sex Offences however they have FAILED TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM PENALTY for those who CONCEAL Child Sex Offences. The reality is, under these new laws and sentencing procedures, Arch Bishop Philip Wilson would face no more jail time than what he did under Section 316. This is inexcusable and the people of NSW need to petition their State Government to increase. the sentence for those who cover up Child Sex Offences.
An “on-line” petition is NOT ACCEPTABLE to the NSW Parliament. It must be an OLD FASHIONED, HAND WRITTEN, PAPER AND INK style.

CONCEALING CHILD SEX OFFENCES SHOULD BE A SERIOUS CRIME
PETITION NSW is a resource to help urge the NSW Legislative Assembly to increase the maximum sentence for those who conceal Child Sex Offences to at least five years imprisonment. Legislation recently introduced has not increased the maximum penalty from two years imprisonment which previously existed under Section 316 of the NSW Crimes Act of 1900. The NSW Legislative Assembly requires a petition of 10,000 signatures from residents of NSW to be tabled for the matter to be debated in Parliament.
If you believe that those who conceal Child Sex Offences should face a maximum sentence of AT LEAST five years imprisonment, please DOWNLOAD and CIRCULATE the petition. Completed petitions can then be returned to: PETITION NSW C/- PO BOX 20, MAITLAND NSW 232
