One of our readers commented on our Facebook post regarding new tougher laws for concealing child abuse: “How wonderful, needs to happen, never too late, thank goodness it is happening”.
We don’t think we could have said it better ourselves.
And if anyone would know how much the law change was wanted, it would be our readers.
For years, Pastor Bob Cotton has publicly called for stronger penalties for the crime.
Our sister paper The Advertiser first spoke to him about it back in July 2016.
But it has been in the past few months that both The Mercury and pastor Cotton have hit the issue hard.
